A multimillion-dollar lawsuit has been filed against the Manly rugby league club by the family of former player Keith Titmuss. Titmuss tragically died of exertional heatstroke during a pre-season training session in November 2020.
An inquest into his death found that Titmuss was most likely suffering from involuntary dehydration when he undertook a strenuous cardio workout. Paramedics noted his body temperature was an alarming 41.9 degrees Celsius.
The inquest also confirmed that a pre-existing heart condition did not contribute to his passing. Titmuss' mother, father, and brother are pursuing legal action, with a directions hearing set for next month.
