MLC Funds Stadium for Mahakalipadpu Public Ground

MLC Ivan D'Souza has initiated a plan to comprehensively develop the government school ground at Mahakalipadpu into a stadium. This initiative addresses Mangaluru's shortage of dedicated public areas for sports and recreation. D'Souza announced the allocation of grants from his local area development (LAD) fund for the stadium's construction, which will include necessary roofing.

During a site visit with residents, D'Souza stressed the importance of preserving the ground for public use, especially for children and youth. Residents appealed for the space to remain exclusively a public playground. To ensure effective execution and ongoing maintenance, D'Souza recommended forming a development committee comprising local citizens and departmental representatives.
