Carrick's Job on the Line: United Chasing Crucial Win

Manchester United faces a critical test at Stamford Bridge this afternoon, with manager Michael Carrick's tenure under severe scrutiny. The team has endured a dismal run, remaining winless in their last eight fixtures and having not secured a Premier League victory since August 30th. Carrick himself has acknowledged the mounting pressure, with his future potentially hinging on securing a positive result against Chelsea.

The Reds' chances of a much-needed win have been bolstered by the return of midfielder Kobbie Mainoo to training this week, with a starting role a possibility. Furthermore, Bruno Fernandes is also expected to be available for selection, following what are described as clear-the-air talks with Carrick. However, the team will be without key players Benjamin Sesko, Manuel Ugarte, and Patrick Dorgu, while Marcus Rashford and Luke Shaw are also not anticipated to feature in the upcoming match.
