Summary
- Ruben Amorim sacked by Manchester United after draw with Leeds.
- Amorim cited lack of promised authority as reason for outburst.
- Nuno Espirito Santo is the current favorite to be the seventh sacked manager.
Manchester United has unexpectedly sacked manager Ruben Amorim on Monday, sending shockwaves through the Premier League. The decision followed an explosive outburst after their recent 1-1 draw with Leeds, where Amorim stated he lacked the promised authority.
Amorim's dismissal makes him the sixth manager to be sacked this Premier League season. Bookmakers Sky Bet have identified West Ham's Nuno Espirito Santo as the current favorite to become the seventh manager shown the door, with odds of 1/7. Santo has already been sacked once this season as Nottingham Forest boss.
Other managers under pressure include Liverpool's Arne Slot (7/1) and Tottenham's Thomas Frank (17/2). Burnley's Scott Parker and Crystal Palace's Oliver Glasner are also among the shortest-priced candidates.
