The race for the 2026 Steve Prescott MBE Man of Steel award has narrowed to three exceptional players: Adam Keighran of Wigan Warriors, Brad O'Neill of Wigan Warriors, and Lachie Miller of Leeds Rhinos.
Keighran, a centre, finished the regular season with an impressive 16 tries and 107 goals. His versatility, including playing in the halves, and strong defense made him a consistent performer, despite narrowly missing a Super League Dream Team selection.
Teammate Brad O'Neill has had a standout year, earning the Rugby League Writers and Broadcasters Association Player of the Year award. After a challenging previous season, O'Neill has shown immense growth, combining his usual tough defense and sharp distribution with an effective running game and influential presence.
Leeds Rhinos' Lachie Miller has been instrumental in his team's challenge for the League Leaders' Shield, contributing significantly with 18 assists and nearly 3,800 metres gained. Although a hamstring injury has ended his season, his impact on Leeds' attack was undeniable.
Wigan Warriors also has strong representation in the women's game, with Eva Hunter, Jenna Foubister, and Megan Williams nominated for the Woman of Steel award. Furthermore, Joe Coyd, Rob Hawkins, and Tristan Norfolk are finalists for the Wheels of Steel award.
The winners of these prestigious awards will be revealed at Rugby League's Awards Night in Manchester on Tuesday, September 29, 2026.
