All-Star left-handed pitcher MacKenzie Gore is on the move to the Texas Rangers. This significant trade involves five prospects heading to the Washington Nationals, marking a major step in the team's roster reconstruction under new leadership.

Last season, Gore was selected as an NL All-Star and posted a 5-15 record with a 4.17 ERA, along with a career-high 185 strikeouts in 30 starts. He was originally the third overall pick in the 2017 amateur draft by the San Diego Padres and was acquired by Washington in a 2022 trade that also involved Juan Soto. The Nationals are receiving Yeremy Cabrera, Gavin Fien, Devin Fitz-Gerald, Abimelec Ortiz, and Alejandro Rosario from Texas in this latest deal.
