Last month, Lucknow hosted an inspiring Inter-District Taekwondo Open Championship as part of the Mission Shakti 5.0 initiative. Over 200 girls from across Uttar Pradesh gathered at the KD Singh 'Babu' Stadium to showcase their talent, determination, and strength in the sport.
The event's chief guest, Ritu Suhas, the additional director of the department of urban development, emphasized the significance of mental and physical strength for true women's empowerment. She highlighted that self-defense and self-confidence are the foundations upon which women can build their success and progress. The objectives of Mission Shakti extend beyond ensuring women's safety, aiming to strengthen their confidence, self-reliance, and self-respect, contributing to broader social transformation.
The Taekwondo demonstrations by the participants were a testament to their spirit of sportsmanship, discipline, and empowerment. All participants were recognized for their performance with certificates and mementos. The event was attended by trainers, teachers, parents, and a large number of students, with the message of "Nari Shakti, Nari Suraksha, and Nari Samman" (Women's Power, Safety, and Dignity) resonating throughout the venue.
