LSU Star Bella Hines Enters Transfer Portal Unexpectedly
8 Apr
Summary
- Top-25 recruit Bella Hines has entered the transfer portal.
- Hines averaged 4.2 points and 13 minutes per game for LSU.
- Her departure creates a significant gap at the guard position.
Bella Hines, a highly-touted recruit for LSU, has unexpectedly entered the NCAA transfer portal. This development contradicts earlier statements by coach Kim Mulkey, who had indicated most players would return for the 2026-27 season. Hines, ranked among the top 25 recruits in her class, saw limited playing time, averaging 4.2 points, 2.2 rebounds, and 1.1 assists in 13 minutes per game.
Her decision leaves a notable void in LSU's guard lineup. Furthermore, Hines' entry into the portal makes her a prime target for other collegiate programs. Any team that secures her could potentially have her for three seasons, representing a significant acquisition.
