Kelly: LSU Defense is Championship Caliber

Brian Kelly, formerly the head coach of the LSU Tigers, recently shared his assessment of the team's current national championship prospects. Speaking on The Early Read, Kelly expressed confidence in the LSU defense, describing it as 'national championship caliber.' He attributed much of this strength to defensive coordinator Blake Baker, whom Kelly hired prior to the 2024 college football season.

Kelly also pointed to the team's enhanced offensive performance, particularly their ability to run the ball effectively. He contrasted this with struggles in the previous year, emphasizing that an efficient running game is a critical component for any championship-contending team. Kelly concluded that the combination of a formidable defense and a potent rushing attack positions LSU well for the latter stages of the season.
