Championship teams rely on the collective effort of every individual, not just their star players. Anthony Rizzo highlights the importance of 'Low Key Legends,' the often-unrecognized contributors who are vital to a franchise's success. These crucial figures include clubhouse attendants and hitting coaches, whose behind-the-scenes work ensures players are prepared and energized.
While superstars garner attention, Rizzo points to instances like Gary Sanchez's strategic walk in a playoff game, which set up a game-winning hit. This exemplifies how seemingly minor actions by role players can directly lead to significant victories, underscoring the 'team of destiny' mentality.
Ultimately, every player, coach, and staff member is part of an 'entire army' striving for a championship. The dedication of these 'low-key legends' can be the deciding factor between a team that goes home empty-handed and one that achieves ultimate glory.
