Lovlina Hurts: Northeast Missing From India Map

An incident at an Indian restaurant in Glasgow, Scotland, has brought attention to cartographical omissions. Lovlina Borgohain, a silver medalist boxer from Assam, noticed that the Northeast region of India was missing from a map featured on napkins and displays at Mister Singh's India, The Home of Curry. This occurred during a celebratory dinner for the Indian boxing contingent following their successful Commonwealth Games campaign. Borgohain conveyed her disappointment, stating that as someone from the Northeast, the exclusion was personally hurtful. The restaurant management acknowledged the error and pledged to correct it. The map's inaccuracies extended to other disputed territories, notably excluding Pakistan-administered Kashmir and Aksai Chin. This broader omission was also pointed out by members of the Indian boxing team, including its president, Ajay Singh, who confirmed that the restaurant accepted responsibility and assured correction.
