In a major statement of intent ahead of their debut season in the Women's Super League, London City Lionesses have completed a £1.4 million world-record transfer for Paris Saint-Germain midfielder Grace Geyoro. The deal, which was announced on September 2nd, 2025, surpasses the previous record of £1.1 million paid by Orlando Pride for Mexican winger Lizbeth Ovalle last month.
Geyoro, who has over 100 caps for the French national team, has spent her entire career at PSG after coming through their academy. The 28-year-old was a standout performer for France at this summer's European Championships, scoring twice including in the quarter-finals. Her arrival makes it 16 new signings for London City as they look to make an immediate impact in the WSL.
Backed by wealthy American owner Michele Kang, the newly-promoted London side have splashed the cash this summer, also securing the signing of teenage Spain international Lucia Corrales from Barcelona. Other high-profile additions include Dutch midfielder Danielle van de Donk, former Manchester United captain Katie Zelem, and England forward Nikita Parris.
