11 Nov
Summary
- Liverpool's 3-0 loss to Man City leaves them 8 points off the top
- Arsenal drop points against newly-promoted Sunderland
- Real Madrid, Barcelona, and Bayern Munich all fail to win

The weekend of European soccer has been filled with plenty of drama and surprises. In the Premier League, Liverpool's title defense appears to be in shambles as they suffered a 3-0 loss to Manchester City. The defending champions now sit in eighth place, a staggering 8 points off the top of the table, with little sign of rediscovering their previous swagger.
Elsewhere in the Premier League, points were dropped by other top teams as well. Arsenal, who could have taken advantage, were held to a draw by newly-promoted Sunderland. Meanwhile, the match between Manchester United and Tottenham delivered a thrilling last 15 minutes.
The drama was not limited to the Premier League, as other top European leagues also saw their fair share of surprises. Real Madrid's scoreless draw was a reminder that they are far from runaway title favorites in La Liga. Barcelona had to grind out a win against Celta Vigo, and perhaps most shockingly, Bayern Munich dropped points.
