Lions Hooker Predicts "Nuclear" Second Test Against Wallabies
21 Jul
Summary
- Lions won first Test 27-19
- Wallabies to bring back big hitters Skelton and Valetini
- Lions hooker Jamie George expects "nuclear" second Test

The British and Irish Lions have taken a 1-0 lead in their series against Australia, winning the first Test 27-19 at Suncorp Stadium last weekend. However, the Lions are bracing for a strong Wallabies backlash in the second Test, scheduled for this Saturday in Melbourne.
Lions hooker Jamie George, who is set to make his third appearance for the touring side, believes the second Test will be a fiercely contested affair. "In my eyes, I don't see a world where Australia looked like winning the first Test," said George, who was a late call-up from England's tour of Argentina. "The physicality that I saw from the Lions team was something else."
But the Wallabies are expected to field a much-improved team, with the return of powerful forwards Will Skelton and Rob Valetini from calf injuries. "That means they're going to be a much better team," George warned. "Is Test two going to go nuclear? I imagine so, from both sides."
The Lions will be aiming to seal the series victory in Melbourne, but they know they will face a determined Wallabies outfit determined to level the scores.
