Vaki's hamstring injury has been lingering for over a month, and the team has been unsuccessful in their attempts to bring him back. They are now opting to allow his hamstring time to fully heal, even if it means sitting him out for this game. Jones was a midweek addition to the injury report, and he will not recover in time to play. Additionally, practice squad player Dan Skipper has also been unable to practice, which could mean that Giovanni Manu is in line for OT3 duties against the Packers.
Nowaske's surprise addition to the injury report this week, coupled with his inability to practice all week, has resulted in him being ruled out for the game. With the Lions typically keeping six linebackers active on game days, practice squad player Anthony Pittman could be in line for a roster elevation to fill the void.
Despite these setbacks, the Lions will be expecting to see the NFL debut of TeSlaa, who missed a practice earlier in the week due to an illness but has since returned to the field.
