Since then, he has been a dominant force for the club, providing 71 goals and 37 assists in 82 appearances across all competitions. Messi was named the MLS MVP in 2024 after scoring 21 goals in 22 league games, helping Miami finish top of the overall standings and qualify for the Club World Cup.
This season, Messi has continued his stellar play, registering 37 goals and 19 assists in 43 appearances as Miami finished third in the Eastern Conference to secure a playoff berth. With the contract extension now official, Messi and his Miami teammates will have their sights set on lifting the MLS Cup in the coming years.
