Liberty's Ionescu Secures 4th Consecutive All-WNBA Selection

As of October 11th, 2025, Sabrina Ionescu has solidified her status as a rising star in the WNBA, earning her fourth consecutive selection to the All-WNBA Second Team. The New York Liberty point guard was one of 10 players named to the prestigious squad, joining the likes of Aliyah Boston, Paige Bueckers, and Nneka Ogwumike.

Ionescu's latest All-WNBA nod is a historic achievement, as she becomes only the third player in Liberty franchise history to reach this milestone, following in the footsteps of Tina Charles and Teresa Weatherspoon. The Liberty have now had at least one representative on the All-WNBA team for the past four seasons.

Despite the Liberty's early playoff exit in their quest to defend their first-ever championship, Ionescu continued to shine, ranking in the top 10 in the league in several key statistical categories. She averaged 18.2 points, 5.7 assists, and 4.9 rebounds per game, while also setting a new personal best with 1.3 steals per contest.

Ionescu's standout performance this season comes as she and her Liberty teammates prepare to navigate the upcoming free agency period and a new collective bargaining agreement in the WNBA. However, the homegrown star has hinted at her desire to remain in New York, stating her commitment to the organization through both the good and the bad times.
