Leeds Seals €38M Deal for Sassuolo Defender

Leeds United is on the verge of completing a significant defensive reinforcement with the signing of Tarik Muharemovic from Sassuolo. The Bosnian centre-back is currently undergoing his medical examination at Elland Road, following an agreement for a €38 million transfer fee with the Italian club. This move addresses the team's need for defensive depth following Patrick Struijk's earlier transfer. Muharemovic's previous club, Juventus, is set to receive a substantial portion of the transfer fee, estimated at around €19 million, thanks to a sell-on clause negotiated during his move to Sassuolo in the summer of 2024. Leeds' transfer activity is not limited to defense; the club is also in the market for a new goalkeeper. With Karl Darlow having departed and Lucas Perri linked with a move to Torino, Leeds is reportedly targeting Parma's Zion Suzuki and Juventus's Michele Di Gregorio.
