LeBron James recently praised Andrew Wiggins, a player rumored to be a trade target for the Los Angeles Lakers. Speaking on his podcast with Steve Nash, James highlighted Wiggins' effectiveness in a screenless offensive style, a tactic the surprisingly successful Miami Heat are employing this 2025-26 season. The Heat's strong performance, despite trading Jimmy Butler last season, has been a significant story.
The Lakers are reportedly monitoring the Heat's situation, with league insider Jake Fischer suggesting LA's interest in acquiring Wiggins. The Heat forward has averaged 16.4 points, 4.8 rebounds, and 2.8 assists in 16 games, offering size, athleticism, and defense.
James and Nash also discussed the Memphis Grizzlies' screenless offense, focusing on their strategy against Ja Morant. However, unlike the Heat, the Grizzlies have struggled this season with a 7-12 record.
