26 Oct
Summary
- LeBron James jokingly quoted Taurean Prince on rebounding.
- The 76ers were significantly out-rebounded by the Pistons.
- Prince's quote resurfaced from a viral college moment.
The Philadelphia 76ers experienced their first defeat of the 2026-27 season on Sunday, losing to the Detroit Pistons with a score of 106-93. A significant point of concern in the game was the team's performance on the boards, as they were outrebounded by the Pistons by a considerable margin of 54-37.
Following the game, when questioned about how the team could address these rebounding issues, LeBron James offered a lighthearted response by quoting his old teammate, Taurean Prince. James humorously referenced Prince's memorable viral moment from his college days at Baylor, where he explained rebounding with a straightforward, yet comical, explanation.
Prince, who was present at the game, was jokingly invoked by James to emphasize the fundamental nature of securing rebounds. James himself contributed 18 points to the 76ers' effort in 33 minutes of play, along with five assists and two steals, though he managed only two rebounds. This season marks James' 24th year in the league, having signed with the Sixers as a free agent.
