Corey Conn, in his 14th season as Lancaster's varsity baseball coach, has set a new all-time wins record with 226 career victories. He surpassed the previous record of 225 wins held by Lennie Conrad. Conn achieved this significant milestone on April 4th when his team defeated Batavia 6-0.
Conn, who took over the program at age 26, focused on changing the team's culture and earning respect. Since 2018, the team has experienced remarkable success, averaging 20 wins per season. This period includes four consecutive Ohio Capital Conference championships and three district titles.
He attributes the program's sustained winning to consistency in coaching, clear player expectations, and a strong sense of brotherhood among the athletes. Conn believes this culture has been pivotal in establishing a standard of winning that players uphold themselves, leading to the team's recent achievements.
