The Los Angeles Lakers are set to host the Portland Trail Blazers on Friday, November 7, 2026, for a highly anticipated NBA Cup game. The Trail Blazers enter this contest with an impressive 6-1 record, securing them the best standing in the Western Conference. This game represents a rematch for the two teams, as Portland previously defeated Los Angeles 136-129 just eleven days prior, exploiting defensive lapses by the Lakers.
This matchup is crucial for the Lakers as it marks their second game in the NBA Cup group play. They are looking to rebound from a 17-point loss to the Golden State Warriors in their opening group stage game. The Lakers' recent performance includes a 116-103 victory over the Sacramento Kings, improving their season record to 7-2, largely due to improved defensive efforts in that particular game.
