The Los Angeles Lakers are reportedly exploring a potential offseason acquisition of Oklahoma City Thunder guard Lu Dort. Dort, a key player in the Thunder's 2025 championship run, is recognized for his defensive prowess and clutch three-point shooting.
The Thunder hold an $18.2 million team option for Dort in the 2026-27 season, indicating he is not a free agent this coming offseason. However, the Lakers may have a clear avenue to trade for the 6-foot-4 guard this summer.
This potential move is facilitated by Dort's representation by Rich Paul, who is known for his ability to guide clients to desired teams or franchises. The Lakers are looking to add Dort's impactful, defensive-minded playstyle to their roster.
