Contrary to popular opinion, Kuminga asserted that he did not reject any financial offers prior to committing to the Timberwolves. He clarified his motivations in a direct message, stating that financial gain was not his primary driver.

Kuminga explained his choice by highlighting the Timberwolves' esteemed winning culture. He also expressed enthusiasm for playing with LaMelo Ball, whom he described as one of the best passing teammates he could have.

This clarification follows earlier reports that suggested Kuminga had turned down a more substantial offer from the Los Angeles Lakers, reportedly a two-year deal worth $20 million. His current contract with the Timberwolves is understood to be for $12.4 million over two years.
