Summary
- Krish Bhagat, 21, joins MI as replacement for injured Atharva Ankolekar.
- Bhagat is a Punjab all-rounder, a medium pacer and lower-order batter.
- Mumbai Indians have won one out of their first four IPL 2026 games.

Mumbai Indians have brought in Krish Bhagat as a replacement for Atharva Ankolekar, who has been ruled out of IPL 2026 due to injury.
Bhagat, a 21-year-old all-rounder hailing from Punjab, offers a dual skillset as a right-arm medium pacer and a lower-order batter. He brings experience from seven first-class and nine List A matches, including a List A half-century.
Previously, Bhagat participated in Mumbai Indians' trials over the past two years and represented the Reliance Team in the DY Patil T20 Cup earlier in 2026. He also served as a support bowler during pre-season training.
Ankolekar's absence is a significant blow, as the left-arm spinning all-rounder was a notable player for India's U19 World Cup squad in 2020. He was also the Player of the Match in the 2019 ACC U19 Asia Cup final.
Mumbai Indians are currently navigating a challenging start to their IPL 2026 campaign, having secured only one victory in their initial four games.
