Landry Shamet, initially signed to an Exhibit 9 contract on September 14, 2024, has transformed from a roster hopeful to a crucial part of the Knicks' rotation.
Despite past injury concerns and questions about his shooting consistency, Shamet has impressed in the current preseason. He has shown significant improvement in his game, leading to discussions about his impact on the team's lineup and rotation.
His emergence directly affects the Knicks' strategy, especially regarding the sixth man position, potentially challenging Miles McBride's role. Shamet's development also provides a potential alternative if the team considers trading McBride.
