Acelynn Hacker, a senior shooting guard for the Fighting Saints at Kerkhoven-Murdock-Sunburg High School, has etched her name in the school's history books by breaking the all-time scoring record for both boys and girls. The record, which had stood since 2007, was surpassed on December 2nd during the team's season opener against Lac qui Parle Valley.
Hacker's historic performance included a remarkable 36-point night, leading her team to a decisive 77-31 victory. She had entered her senior season needing only 19 points to claim the top spot, demonstrating consistent excellence throughout her varsity career, which began in eighth grade. Hacker's efforts have been instrumental in the Fighting Saints' success, contributing to three consecutive 20-plus win seasons and multiple conference titles.
Looking ahead, Hacker is committed to playing NCAA Division III basketball for the University of Minnesota-Morris Cougars. While excited for her college future, her immediate focus remains on leading the Fighting Saints to another successful season, aiming for their fourth consecutive winning year.
