Indian wicketkeeper-batter KL Rahul recently visited the Mahakaleshwar Temple in Ujjain, a significant Jyotirlinga shrine, to seek blessings before the crucial third ODI against New Zealand. The visit, a moment of spiritual solace away from cricketing pressures, involved prayers and ritual worship of Nandi.
This is not Rahul's first visit to the Mahakal Temple; he has sought blessings there on previous occasions, including before the IPL 2024 and a Test match in 2023 with his wife, Athiya Shetty. His current form in the ODI series has been strong, highlighted by an unbeaten century in the second match.
Rahul's hundred, however, could not secure a victory as New Zealand won by seven wickets, leveling the series 1-1. The visit by Rahul followed that of Indian head coach Gautam Gambhir and batting coach Sitanshu Kotak, who also attended the Bhasma Aarti at the temple.
