Summary
- DeMar DeRozan surpassed Kevin Garnett on the all-time scoring list.
- Jalen Brunson suffered an ankle injury early in the game.
- The Kings achieved their season-best third consecutive victory.
The Sacramento Kings extended their winning streak to a season-best three games with a 112-101 victory over the visiting New York Knicks on Wednesday, January 15, 2026. DeMar DeRozan spearheaded the Kings' offense with 27 points, a performance that also saw him surpass Kevin Garnett to claim 22nd place on the all-time NBA scoring list. Zach LaVine provided crucial support with 25 points for Sacramento.
The Knicks struggled throughout the game, further compounded by an early ankle injury to star guard Jalen Brunson just four minutes into the contest. Brunson's departure ended his streak of 18 consecutive 20-point games. Mikal Bridges led the Knicks with 19 points, while OG Anunoby added 15. The team's shooting woes were evident, particularly from beyond the arc, where they made only 8 of 41 attempts.
Sacramento established control early, building a 32-17 lead in the first quarter and extending it to 20 points in the second half. This marked the Kings' second win against the Knicks in their last 10 meetings and was the first visit to Sacramento for Knicks coach Mike Brown since his dismissal in December 2024. The Kings' strong shooting performance and solid defense secured their latest triumph.
