Walk-on to All-American: Kien Vu's Rise

Initially joining Arizona State University as a walk-on, Kien Vu experienced a significant rise in his baseball career. He established himself as a key player for the Sun Devils, earning All-American honors. The Cincinnati Reds recognized his talent by selecting him in the 9th round of the 2025 MLB Draft. Vu has since been dedicated to developing his skills in the minor leagues. He began his professional journey with the Low-A Daytona Tortugas in August and was promoted to the High-A Dayton Dragons on March 31. A notable achievement during his time in the minors was a 30-game on-base streak spanning April and May. Throughout his career, Vu has received steadfast support from his girlfriend, Sydney Taylor, whom he reportedly met at Arizona State University. Taylor frequently attends his games to cheer him on.
