KFA Overhaul: Players, Coaches to Gain More Voting Power

The K-Football Innovation Committee convened its fifth non-face-to-face meeting on August 4th to discuss significant reforms for the Korea Football Association (KFA). Launched on June 6th, the committee has been working towards revamping the KFA's governance structure.
A primary focus has been expanding the KFA electorate, aiming to surpass 10,000 members through a direct election system. The proposed composition for this expanded electorate includes a significant percentage of players and coaches, alongside executives and referees.
Discussions at the meeting also extended to enhancing the independence of the Strengthening Committee and reviewing the national team coach selection process. The committee is considering a public recruitment system, similar to the Korean Sport & Olympic Committee's model, for selecting the A-team coach.
