Summary
- £70,000 grant funds tennis court resurfacing and facility upgrades
- Northampton Road Pavilion courts, seating, and community room refurbished
- Kettering Tennis Club contributed £7,500 towards the project

In a significant boost for the local community, the tennis courts and facilities at Northampton Road Pavilion in Kettering have been completely refurbished thanks to a grant of nearly £70,000. The project, led by North Northamptonshire Council, involved resurfacing four outdoor courts, installing new seating, and renovating the community room.
The bulk of the funding, £62,500, came from the FCC Communities Foundation, a not-for-profit organization that supports community projects. Kettering Tennis Club also contributed around £7,500 towards the work. According to the club's chair, Christopher Todd, the upgrades will "serve our community for years to come" and provide a "higher quality tennis experience" for both club members and the general public.
The refurbished courts are now open, with an official opening event planned for next April as part of the club's annual open day. Brian Benneyworth of North Northamptonshire Council, who oversaw the project, said the improvements have made a "huge difference" to the facilities, offering a "real boost for residents in Kettering and the surrounding areas."
