29 Jul

Summary

Kelsey Plum could be traded before August 2.
She signed a one-year deal for $999,999.
Plum is not expected to re-sign with Sparks.

Kelsey Plum, a two-time WNBA champion with the Las Vegas Aces, was traded to the Los Angeles Sparks in January 2025. Despite her efforts to lead the Sparks to the playoffs, the team's personnel decisions have hindered their success. Plum is reportedly not intending to re-sign with the Sparks after her one-year contract, valued at $999,999, concludes.

As a result, the 31-year-old guard is a prominent trade candidate ahead of the August 2 WNBA trade deadline. While the Sparks have yet to engage in substantial trade discussions regarding Plum, her future with the team appears uncertain. Plum has experienced recent injury issues, limiting her to 12 games this season, but still commands interest in the free-agent market.
