Kawhi Leonard: Focused on Raptors, Not Probe Fallout

Kawhi Leonard has officially rejoined the Toronto Raptors, signaling his intent to focus on his new role with the team. This comes after a yearlong NBA investigation into allegations of salary-cap circumvention, which concluded with penalties for his former team, the LA Clippers.

Speaking at Raptors media day, Leonard stated his desire to move forward and concentrate on his time as a Toronto Raptor. He acknowledged the media's interest in the investigation but emphasized his decision, in consultation with the NBA and the National Basketball Players Association, to focus on basketball.

The trade that brought Leonard back to Toronto was officially completed recently. The Raptors had previously paused the transaction pending the outcome of the league's probe. General Manager Bobby Webster noted the unique circumstances but expressed confidence in the deal.

Leonard mentioned being a distraction for the past 70 days and expressed eagerness to meet his teammates and engage in team activities. His coach, Darko Rajaković, shared his excitement for Leonard's return. The focus is now on the upcoming season and Leonard's contributions to the Raptors.
