No. 22 Kansas staged a dramatic comeback on Tuesday night, erasing a double-digit deficit to outlast TCU 104-100 in overtime. The Jayhawks trailed by as many as 16 points midway through the second half but fought back relentlessly.
Darryn Peterson emerged as the star, hitting three crucial free throws in the closing seconds of regulation to tie the game at 91. Kansas then held strong in overtime, converting 9 of 11 free throws to secure the hard-fought victory. Melvin Council Jr. was instrumental in the extra period, scoring nine of his 18 total points.
TCU's Liutauras Lelevicius had a career-best performance, pouring in 23 points, including five 3-pointers. Despite his efforts and David Punch's 20 points, the Horned Frogs could not overcome Kansas' late surge. Tre White and Flory Bidunga also contributed double-digit scoring for the Jayhawks.
