K'Andre Miller, acquired by the Carolina Hurricanes from the New York Rangers last summer, has emerged as a critical force during their playoff run. The defenseman, initially acquired in a sign-and-trade deal, has significantly outperformed expectations.

Miller has become one of the Hurricanes' most valuable blueliners, contributing offensively with eight points in 12 playoff games, the most among Carolina defensemen. He also leads all Hurricanes players with an average of 24:05 minutes per game.

His defensive prowess has drawn widespread admiration, including high praise from hockey legend Wayne Gretzky. Gretzky remarked that Miller's defensive play in the Stanley Cup Playoffs is "as well as I've ever seen a defenseman play," likening him to a "brick wall."
