- Both Juventus and Rennes suffered recent league defeats.
- Juventus has a strong home record in European competitions.
Juventus hosts Rennes in a pivotal UEFA Europa League fixture at Allianz Stadium, with both clubs seeking to rebound from recent domestic league defeats. Juventus, currently trailing in Serie A, eyes European success as a potential boost to morale and pride. The Italian giants have a history of strong home performances in European tournaments and have won both previous encounters against Rennes in the 1999 UEFA Intertoto Cup.
Rennes also enters the match following a weekend loss in Ligue 1. Despite their own domestic struggles and a history of poor away form against Italian clubs, Rennes boasts impressive defensive statistics in the Europa League this season, leading in expected goals against and fewest shots faced. However, their recent away form has been inconsistent, with a concerning trend of conceding multiple goals.
Both teams are dealing with significant player absences due to injuries. Juventus's squad is depleted, while Rennes has fewer injury concerns. Despite the absences and Rennes's defensive capabilities, Juventus is favored to continue their perfect Europa League start and secure a victory at home.
