Sorloth nears Juventus move amid transfer talks

Juventus is reportedly closing in on a deal to acquire striker Alexander Sorloth from Atletico Madrid. The Serie A club's interest intensified as it became clear that Dusan Vlahovic would not remain with the team. Luciano Spalletti, the coach, has reportedly given his approval for the signing after direct conversations with the player. Juventus officials held meetings with Sorloth's representatives in Oslo last week, and his current €3M annual salary is not seen as an obstacle.

The transfer talks between Juventus and Atletico Madrid are progressing, with both clubs negotiating Sorloth's valuation. The 30-year-old forward scored 20 goals and provided one assist in 54 appearances during the 2025/2026 season, though he was not always a consistent starter. Juventus has also inquired about goalkeeper Jan Oblak, but his substantial €12M annual salary makes a move unlikely.

Additionally, the negotiations are exploring the potential involvement of other players. Juventus is discussing the future of Nicolas Gonzalez, whom Atletico's coach, Cholo Simeone, wishes to keep. However, Atletico seeks a reduced buy-out option of €32 million for Gonzalez, who reportedly does not wish to return to Turin. A swap deal involving Sorloth and Gonzalez is considered a distinct possibility due to their similar market values.
