J.P. Estrella, who played forward for the Tennessee Volunteers, has transferred to the Michigan Wolverines. Michigan recently celebrated their second college basketball championship, defeating UConn on April 6.
Estrella was a key player for Tennessee, averaging 10.0 points and 5.4 rebounds over 33 games. He also made 13 starts. However, his 2024-25 season was cut short due to a foot injury, causing him to miss most of the campaign.
The 6-foot-11 forward officially entered the transfer portal on April 7. His addition is seen as a strategic move by Michigan coach Dusty May to bolster the team's front court. This comes as potential NBA prospects Morez Johnson Jr. and Aday Mara are expected to enter the 2026 draft.
