American teenager Iva Jovic has reached the semi-finals of the Queen's Club Championships, marking her first career victory against a top-five opponent. The 18-year-old overcame compatriot Amanda Anisimova with a determined display on the grass courts, winning 6-2, 3-6, 6-3.
Top seed Elena Rybakina, the world number two, also exited the tournament. Rybakina lost a hard-fought match to British wildcard Katie Boulter, with the final score 7-5, 2-6, 6-4. Both Rybakina and Boulter had played two matches on Friday due to scheduling disruptions caused by rain.
Boulter's win over Rybakina was the biggest of her career by ranking. She will now face Croatia's Donna Vekic in the semi-finals. Vekic also had a demanding day, winning two matches to reach this stage. Jovic is set to play either Emma Raducanu or Kamilla Rakhimova in her semi-final.
