Gvardiol Signs New 5-Year Deal, Targets More City Trophies

Josko Gvardiol has penned a new five-year contract with Manchester City, signaling his long-term commitment to the club. Since joining from RB Leipzig in August 2023, the 24-year-old defender has been instrumental in the team's success, collecting six major honors. These include the Premier League, FA Cup, Carabao Cup, Community Shield, UEFA Super Cup, and FIFA Club World Cup.

Reflecting on his initial three years, Gvardiol expressed immense satisfaction with the achievements but emphasized his ambition for further success. He stated his desire to remain in Manchester for "many, many years," finding the club the right environment for himself and his family. The defender also revealed that winning the Premier League in his first season was his favorite trophy, particularly given the limited number of Croatians who had achieved this feat.

As Manchester City enters a new era under manager Enzo Maresca, following Pep Guardiola's departure, Gvardiol is determined to play a significant role. He believes he has developed considerably since his arrival at age 21, learning from teammates and coaches.
