Buttler has become the seventh player overall and the second from his nation to complete 13,500 runs in the format. He reached this landmark with his 26th run against New Zealand in the opening T20I in Christchurch.
Buttler, one of the finest wicketkeeper-batters in white-ball cricket, has raced past the 13,500-run mark across 471 T20 games. Over 3,800 of his runs have come in T20I cricket, where he has an impressive average and strike rate of 35-plus and 146-plus, respectively. The tally includes eight centuries and 97 half-centuries, with his best score being 124.
Buttler is now only behind his compatriot Alex Hales (14,200 runs) in terms of T20 runs among Englishmen. He has joined the elite list of players, including Chris Gayle, Kieron Pollard, Shoaib Malik, Virat Kohli, and David Warner, who have all surpassed the 13,000-run mark in the format.
