4 Mar
Summary
- Johan Rojas is challenging an 80-game ban.
- The suspension is for a failed PED test.
- Rojas was removed from Dominican WBC roster.

Philadelphia Phillies player Johan Rojas is contesting a potential 80-game suspension for an alleged failed drug test. Major League Baseball's drug policy allows players to appeal positive tests for performance-enhancing substances before a public announcement of discipline. Rojas, who debuted in 2023, was recently removed from the Dominican Republic's World Baseball Classic roster, according to general manager Nelson Cruz.
Last season, the 25-year-old outfielder hit .224 with one home run and 18 RBIs for the Phillies, also recording 12 stolen bases. He was demoted to Triple-A Lehigh Valley in August and did not play for the major league team for the remainder of the season. During spring training this year, Rojas has a .252 career average with six homers, 73 RBIs, and 51 stolen bases over 250 games.
