Two months after announcing his retirement, Joejuan Williams is returning to the New England Patriots as a coach. The 28-year-old former cornerback will join the Patriots' coaching staff this summer.
Williams will participate in the Bill Walsh Diversity Coaching Fellowship. He was a second-round draft pick by the Patriots in 2019 and played in 38 regular season and playoff games for them. He also had stints with the Vikings, Bears, and Saints.
After retiring in May, Williams immediately transitioned to coaching, gaining experience at his alma mater, Vanderbilt. He then served as a Bill Walsh fellow for two weeks with the Commanders. The Patriots' training camp is set to open on Saturday, July 25, 2026.
