According to the New York City Police Department (NYPD), a 29-year-old male was wounded in the shooting and transported to Bellevue Hospital in critical but stable condition.
While the NYPD did not initially identify the victim, the New York Post reported that the injured individual was Kris Boyd, the Jets cornerback. The team has since confirmed the situation and stated that they are aware of the incident, but will not provide any further comment at this time.
The investigation into the shooting is ongoing, and no arrests have been made as of November 16th, 2025. The area around West 38th Street remains closed to both vehicle and foot traffic as authorities continue their work.
Kris Boyd, who has been on injured reserve since sustaining an injury during training camp, signed a one-year deal with the Jets in March 2025. Prior to joining the Jets, he played for the Minnesota Vikings, Arizona Cardinals, and Houston Texans.
