Jersey Sport has announced the opening of applications for its Performance Sport Programme, making more than £100,000 available to aspiring athletes, coaches, and officials. The programme targets individuals identified within 'Podium, Podium Potential, Talent Performance, and Talent ID profiles,' offering financial assistance for training, competition, and essential living costs. Beyond monetary aid, participants can access a suite of support services, including strength and conditioning, nutrition guidance, sports psychology, medical support, and anti-doping education. To be eligible, athletes must either be born in Jersey or have been a resident on the island for a minimum of two years. This initiative, which began in 2024, has already demonstrated its impact, with beneficiaries like table tennis player Hannah Silcock highlighting its role in enabling participation at higher levels of competition and covering associated expenses.
