Jamshedpur FC Quits ISL Over Fee Deadline

Jamshedpur FC has declared it will cease participation in the Indian Super League (ISL) from the 2026-27 season onwards. This announcement follows the club's failure to meet the extended payment deadline for the required ₹1.1 crore administrative fee.

The club's board has reportedly decided to wind up the first team for the time being. In contrast, Inter Kashi, another club that initially missed the payment deadline, has since submitted the required fees. This means all other 13 clubs have now paid their participation dues.

Jamshedpur FC, established in 2017, affirmed its dedication to fostering football in India, particularly at the grassroots level. The club plans to focus on identifying and nurturing young talent, creating pathways for players from grassroots to national and international stages.

This development occurs after a recent agreement where AIFF granted clubs commercial rights for the ISL for four years, with an option to exit after two. The league's structure has seen adjustments, including a curtailed 2025-26 season, following the end of the previous Master Rights Agreement.
