Jamaal Williams is determined to make an NFL comeback, reaching out to Detroit Lions head coach Dan Campbell to signal his intentions. Though the Lions are currently set at the running back position, Williams' call underscores his desire for a reunion.

During his tenure with the Lions in 2021 and 2022, Williams became a beloved player, notably achieving 1,066 rushing yards and a team-record 17 touchdowns in 2022, leading the NFL that season. Despite understanding the business side of the NFL after the Lions signed David Montgomery, Williams expressed a strong wish to remain in Detroit.

Currently, a return to Detroit is unlikely, with Jahmyr Gibbs leading the team's backfield. The Lions are also prioritizing other roster needs, particularly in the secondary due to injuries. Nevertheless, Williams remains committed to his comeback, training rigorously at BYU with the goal of playing two more seasons and fulfilling his dream of reaching 10 NFL years.
