Hurts' New Speed: Eagles DC Fangio Impressed

Eagles defensive coordinator Vic Fangio observed that quarterback Jalen Hurts appears faster during summer practices. Fangio noted that while the defense cannot touch Hurts during drills, there have been instances where players thought they had him but he evaded them.

Defensive tackle Jalen Carter backed Fangio's assessment, remarking on Hurts' impressive speed during plays, particularly when chasing him on rollout passes. Carter described Hurts' movement as exceptionally fast compared to his own efforts.

Last season, Hurts recorded his lowest rushing output in six years as the team's full-time starter. However, with offensive coordinator Sean Mannion's new scheme encouraging more running, and reports of Hurts exhibiting increased speed, his rushing numbers are expected to improve.
