As the Jacksonville Jaguars prepare for the 2025 NFL season, linebacker Foye Oluokun is embracing a renewed sense of optimism. Oluokun, who joined the team in 2023, is determined to "right his wrongs" from the previous year, which he described as "abysmal" and "toxic."
Oluokun, who was speaking to reporters after a recent training camp session, expressed his excitement about the team's new direction under the leadership of defensive coordinator Anthony Campanile. Oluokun praised Campanile's energetic and uplifting approach, saying the coach's mentality has helped the defense unify and communicate better than they have in the past.
"He's very energetic. He'll pick you right up," Oluokun said of Campanile. "Talking about that 'don't get down on yourself,' it's early in the morning, already hot and he's talking about how we need to do better than yesterday. So, you don't want to let him down because you know he's going to call you out on it."
Oluokun believes the team has regained the "chip" they had when he first arrived in Jacksonville, and he is eager to show the world what the Jaguars are capable of in the upcoming season. The linebacker is confident that the defense, which has welcomed several new players, will be a force to be reckoned with as they look to put the disappointments of 2024 behind them.
